Working from the Client's sketch layouts and an existing but unsuitable planning consent, we developed this scheme and obtained a new consent.
The compact design and southerly aspect made Passivhaus performance relatively easy to achieve; Advanced Foundation Technology provided an insulated raft foundation, and Touchwood Homes the frame; Williams Energy Design developed the PHPP model and contributed the innovative heating and hot water system, which uses a split system to provide warm air direct to the heated space; with fresh air and heat recovery via an MVHR system.
We detailed and documented, and the Client managed the construction work.
This home has just received Passive House Plus certification (March 2017).
